Our Development

Katandra has achieved its goal to provide a quality up-market furniture showroom that also specialises in Curtains and Blinds, incorporating an Interior Design Service. A complete home decorating service, a one stop shop.

Katandra Furniture & Design opened on 7th October 1996. Katandra began selling furniture and giftware. In early 1997 we introduced timber blinds and paint colour consultancies.

In 1998 Katandra introduced custom made curtains; customers kept requesting this so the decision was made to expand into this line. We allied ourselves with curtain manufacturers and installers who work closely with the store.

In August 1999 Katandra opened a small art gallery within the store displaying local artists.

In December 2001 we took up the option to lease the store adjoining ours, which now gives us prominent highway exposure. Whilst in the process of expanding our store we extensively renovated the existing premises, giving Katandra a fresh new look.

We have gone from strength to strength in our knowledge and product ranges. Suppliers want to get into our culture so are chasing us rather than us chasing them.

Due to the sales growth, we now run as two (2) teams within one business - one for Showroom and Furniture, the other for Curtains and Blinds and Interior Design.

Our showroom looks different each time your enter as there is always new stock and we are constantly changing our displays and decorating our showroom - we can't help it - we love it.

Since the beginning of Katandra, we have developed and marketed ourselves with new services and products continually on offer which ensures that we are expanding and maintaining our customer base through different avenues.

The aim of Katandra is to supply quality, stylish, comfortable furniture and professional curtains to as many homes as possible, targeting the South West of Western Australia.
